As I started running a blog, I felt that using AI was something I could not really avoid, so I decided to actually try writing articles with ChatGPT.
This time, I will summarize my impressions after actually using it, focusing on the question: “How useful is it really?”
What I Did with ChatGPT
What I did was simple: I told ChatGPT what kind of article I wanted to write, and then had it generate an outline and draft text.
Specifically, the process was:
- explain the article topic
- have ChatGPT create an outline
- generate text for each section
That was basically how I worked.
At first, I thought, “Maybe this will almost complete the article automatically.”
What Worked Well
After actually using it, I found several things that worked well.
First of all,not having to think of the article structure from scratchwas extremely helpful.
Having even a rough draft significantly lowers the psychological barrier compared to starting from nothing.
Also, the text generation speed is incredibly fastwhich makes it very suitable for the “just start writing something” stage.
It is also useful for brainstorming, so the time spent wondering “what should I write about?” definitely decreases.
Difficulties I Encountered
On the other hand, I also discovered some difficulties after actually using it.
First of all,First, the generated text often does not turn out exactlythe way I want.
The writing often sounds convincing, but it can still feel slightly different from what I actually want to say.
Also,Giving instructions is surprisingly difficultI also realized that.
If the instructions are vague, the response will also be vague, so I found that I needed to be fairly specific.
In addition, the generated text was rarely usable as-is,and editing was usually necessary.
Rather than leaving everything to AI, I think it is more realistic to use it for creating drafts.
Conclusion: AI Works Very Well as a Support Tool
After trying it myself, my conclusion is:
- fully automated article writing is still difficult
- however, AI is extremely useful as a support tool
That is the impression I got.
It is especially useful for:
- creating outlines
- generating drafts
- brainstorming ideas
In these areas, it is genuinely very helpful.
How I Plan to Use It Going Forward
Going forward, I plan to use it like this:
- let ChatGPT create the initial outline
- have it generate the base draft text
- make the final adjustments myself
That is probably how I will continue using it.
In terms of “how to continue while minimizing effort,” I feel that AI is a very good match.
I have only just started experimenting with it, but I plan to continue using it and sharing what I learn along the way.
